Angola: Methodist Pastor Urges Faithful to Be Strong in Faith

Reverend Adilson de Almeida(ANGOLAN PRESS) The pastor of the United Methodist Church in Angola (IMUA) Reverend Adilson de Almeida, Sunday, in Uige city, called on members of the religious congregation to be increasingly strong in faith, thus following the example of Jesus Christ.

The religious official who was speaking at main mass for the celebrations of the 36th anniversary of the Day of the Methodist cleric, celebrated on Sunday, acknowledged the existence within the church of faithful with behaviors, practices and social attitudes contrary to good teachings of the church.

The Reverend who resorted to the book of II Timothy 3:6, drew the attention of members of the church on the rise in recent times of some behaviors that intend to tarnish the good image and good name of the Methodist Church in the country.

The pastor continually resorted to expressions love and peace and warned Christians to be vigilant with false doctrines.

“We have to be careful with the teachings of the present that can separate us from the true gospel of Christ, which is pure and health” he reinforced.

The service was attended by over three hundred worshipers, including leaders of the religious congregation.
