World Youth Day logo-610x369(THE ANGOLAN PRESS) Ndalatando — More than 700 young people from various country’s provinces will attend the 28th edition of the world activities of Catholic Youths, running on 23-28 July in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

The fact was announced Wednesday by director of national Office of Youth Pastoral of Episcopal Conference of Angola and São Tomé (Ceast), the Father Armando Pinho Alberto.

Pinho Alberto said that the event marks the traditional meeting between the Holly Father and youths from across the world.

For this year, he noted, the event will record high turnout in the young people from Angola compared to the previous editions, as the country enjoys peace and engaged in consolidation of social structure.

Another aspect is related to the fact of Brazil to be a Portuguese speaking country.

Speaking to Angop, the priest appealed to the participants to regard the event as an opportunity to hold interchange and renew the faith and not as leisure activity.

“It will also be a special occasion that will mark the first meeting between Pope Francis and world’s Catholic youths”, he noted.
