New York based NGO Fulfills a village long dream of having a good drinking water.

Adaklu Waya is a village located on the mountains in Volta Region West Africa. The word Waya means tasteless.
We have an interesting story about our village and its water. One day a hunter went out for hunting, while he was in the bushes, he saw something moving which caught his attention- he thought it was an animal so he shot at it but still it kept moving, so he went closer to see why it was still moving after he had shot it.
When he got there, he did not see an animal, but saw that it was the grass that was moving. He was shocked, but he followed the grass until he came across a river. Being thirsty, he took off his hat and took some of the water to drink but it was tasteless. It has remained so since the day of our forefathers until the day God answered their prayers by sending Life Water, Inc. to come and give us good clean tasty water.
It’s not that we haven’t tried to get clean water; an organization call Water and Sanitation tried to give us clean water, they have dug 6 wells but none were able to yield water for the village, which left us with the only water supply which is the Waya River. This has posed several problems for the village well being, and has also negatively impacted us socially, economically and educationally. Our school system has suffered severely because of the river’s muddy unsanitary nature. We have not been able to retain teachers for our school. Teachers who have been posted here have refused to come to work because of the bad water in our village. Those that are already here are leaving because of the situation with our water.
I’m 66 years, so you can imagine how long we’ve been fighting for water… since our forefathers. Life Water, Inc. was the first organization to give us water; they were introduced to us through Reverend Nii John Garshong of World Bible Missionary Church based in Accra. Who first told us years ago that God was going to give water to Adaklu. We have lived to see that prophesy come true. We prayed on the spot that the well was going to be dug and asked God to do something different for us this time and He did answer our prayer. For the first time in history we were able to reach water and that has changed our lives. God bless LIFE WATER!!!
