President John Dramani Mahama is expected to chair the ReinhardBonnke crusade slated from November 7th-10th, 2013, in Accra.
The German Evangelist, Reinhard Bonnke’s Christ for all Nations crusade, which will be held at the Black Star Square is expected to be one of the greatest Christian gatherings in Ghana and a potential to increase economic activities in the country.
The crusade chairman, Bishop S. N. Mensah, at the official launch of the programme at the Holiday Inn yesterday, in Accra, indicated that over 50 churches and associations would be participating with 2,000 ushers and pastors and 20,000 security personnel to maintain law and order.
According to the chairman, the crusade would not only strengthen and build Christianity but will serve as grounds for national cohesion, unity and peace after the Supreme Court 2012 election petition verdict.
He noted that a number of dignitaries are expected to accompany the German Evangelist to the country, and among them are investors, adding “Many people have heard so much about this country and they want to take the opportunity to explore the country’s potentials during the crusade”.
He asserted that the November crusade would be Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s last visit to the country, as well as his retirement in ministry of evangelism, pleading that “Christians and unbelievers should take advantage of the crusade for their lives to be touched.”
The overseer of Perez Chapel International, Bishop Agyin Asare urged churches to join hands with the Christian Council to make the crusade a success.
He assured the church leaders that the Evangelist was not interested in establishing a church, but rather to win souls for Christ Jesus, explaining that “many religious leaders discourage their members from attending such programmes, due to the fear that they might lose them. He is not coming to plant a church but support the church.”
Bishop AgyinAsare urged individuals to bring families for their lives to be changed.
The Great Gospel Crusade Africa Director, Rev. John Darko re-counted miracles that were performed by Reinhard Bonnke during his first visit to West Africa, especially in Burkina Faso, where workers returned stolen items to a local hospital, the lame walked and the blind saw.
Rev. Darko stated that the German national began his modest ministry in 1974 as a young evangelist preaching the Word of God and healing people with all kind of infirmities.
He noted that the 39 years of Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke’s ministry has been marked with glorious performance of miracles and deliverance of God to the nations of the world, which Ghana is privileged to experience him for the second time since 1988.
He also urged churches to support the one time event, since souls converted would be handed over to the various Christian bodies to nurture.
