Kenya: Gang Robs Church

The Star – An unknown number of thieves last Friday broke into the development offices of the Embu Catholic Diocese in Kangaru. They stole Sh82,165. The theft was discovered by staff members who reported for duty in the morning.

Embu West District police boss Gasper Makau said two security guards who were guarding the church have been arrested. Silus Musa Ndwiga and Patrick Nyagah work for Up Country security guards company.

Makau said they are being treated as first suspects. The police chief said they were to be arraigned in court yesterday to answer the charges of breaking into the offices and stealing from them.
