ANGLICAN Church Katakwa Diocese Bishop Zakayo Epus has challenged critics to give President Uhuru Kenyatta time to govern the country. “God gave the President wisdom to rule the country, thus the need to give him time to execute his mandate.
Kenyans should not expect changes to come like when one switches a light. Changes come and take a while to take root,” he said.
Bishop Epus issued the appeal yesterday during a prayer service at St James Malaba parish that also offered special prayers for many ills facing the country.
Christians observed a minute’s silence for the rest of the country to ensure insecurity and corruption were curtailed while Kenyans should learn to accommodate one another.
The prelate regretted that insecurity continue to roar its ugly head with people being killed indiscriminately, warning Kenyans to report any suspicious characters to law enforcers.
Bishop Epus said corruption continue to thrive in Kenya with the vice starting from wananchi themselves. He said people should say no to bribes.
Epus warned boda bodas operators against carrying children on the bonnet of their motorcycles saying they were the main cause of accidents involving children in Western Kenya.
The Bishop also decried rising cases of domestic violence and urged families to solve issues in an amicable manner instead of using fatal means.
