Nigeria: Finally, Peace Returns to Assemblies of God Church, Sapele

By Sam Akadoro, Daily Independent
Sapele — Peace and tranquillity has finally returned to the Assemblies of God Church, Sapele, in Sapele Local Government Area of the State following the affirmation of Rev. (Dr) R.O Itotoh as a substantive District Superintendent of the church in the area.

The affirmation was done by members of the church. Also, the subsequent appointment and confirmation of Rev Napoleon Abada as local pastor of the controversial branch two of the church, at Atufe road in Sapele metropolis also helped in restoring peace to the church.

Regular Sunday Church service that had hitherto eluded the worshipers of the church for the past two months as a result of the leadership tussle, took place at the branch two last Sunday with sighs of relief and jubilation.

Addressing the worshipers, who had long been denied of solemn congregation and the Assembly of God’s people as enjoined by the bible, the District Superintendent, Rev Itotoh, apologized to the congregation for all the troubles and embarrassment the tussles may have caused them.

Itotoh acknowledged the fact that “members’ spiritual lives may have actually waned, affected and bruised during the trials and turbulent times and attributed it to the work of the devil, who crept in subtly to destroy the good work.”
