VANGUARD-Lagos — Gospel artistes and pastors at the Household of God Church, Oregun, Lagos, on Sunday offered prayers for the progress of the country.

The prayers were said during the Copyright Society of Nigeria (COSON) church service organised by the society. The service was tagged “COSON in the church”.

The service was organised to BEGIN the COSON week with prayers and supplication to God for the country and its people.

Ebenezer Obey a gospel artist, in his address, said it was necessary to pray for the country as it continued to be weighed down by series of challenges that included insecurity.

He called on Nigerians to remain fervent in prayers for the country’s leaders to lead the people to sustainable development.

“It is a good thing to put God first in everything we do. It is a day of thanksgiving to God and prayers for the country and musicians,” he said.

Other prayers were said for the security challenge and state of emergency declared in some states, the youths and the church in Nigeria. NAN
