The importance of the existence of any organisation, ministry or group is to have a positive impact on its members and the society as a whole. This is exactly what the Royal Ladies Ministry has been doing in the last two decades.
Delegates
Over 5,000 delegates from all over the world are participating in a conference at the University of Ghana, Legon, as part of activities marking the 20th anniversary of the ministry.
The First Lady, Mrs Lordina Mahama, and Her Ladyship the Chief Justice, Mrs Theodora Geargina Wood, ministers of state, parliamentarians, and other high profile personalities are expected to grace the four-day event, with Mrs Mahama delivering an opening address on Saturday.
Other speakers at the conference on the theme, “We Are Ready To Conquer”, include Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah (Royalhouse Chapel Int.); Rev. (Dr) Christie Doh Tetteh (Solid Rock Chapel Int.); Rev. (Mrs) Faith Ngwale (Conquerors Through Christ Ministry, South Africa); Bishop Bernard Owusu Ansah (The Netherlands) and the host, Rev. (Mrs) Rita Korankye-Ankrah.
There will also be goodwill messages and an awards ceremony to honour some distinguished personalities.
Highlights of celebrations
Highlights of the celebrations which began in January this year include of a breakfast meeting on May 3, 2014, at the Alisa Hotel, where the 20th anniversary was officially launched.
Later in the year, there will be series of ‘meet-the-press sessions’ with the President General, Rev. (Mrs) Korankye-Ankrah; a clean-up exercise and a visit to the Pantang Hospital where food items and cash donations would be made to the inmates.
Then in December, an all-night thanksgiving service will be held to appreciate God’s goodness, after which a dinner and awards night will be organised to crown the celebrations.
The Royal Ladies Ministry International was founded 20 years ago by Rev. (Mrs) Korankye Ankrah with 12 women with the aim of empowering women to reach greater heights in their chosen fields and endeavours in life.
How It All Began
The success story of the ministry began when the Apostle General, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah, gave it the name “Royal Ladies Ministry”, when he preached a sermon entitled, “The Royal Lady”, during the ministry’s fifth anniversary and second camp meeting in June 1999.
Based on the philosophy that when women come together to study the word of God, share fellowship and serve, they do not only gain the ability to transform their world but also make a mark that cannot be easily expunged, the ministry has grown into a successful women’s group in the country, leading to the setting up of international branches in the U.K., U.S.A, and other parts of the world.
Recognising the value of women as people created by God with God-given abilities, talents, skills, and resources, the Royal Ladies Ministry has since its inception supported and encouraged women.
Achievements
Over the years, the ministry has provided scholarships to needy brilliant students some of whom are doctors, lawyers, accountants, bankers, teachers, etc., provided start-up/seed money for women and also paid the medical bills of some needy people.
The ministry has left a trail of positive and lasting marks on the lives of many women with its social services. One of its greatest achievements is the acquisition of 6.5-acres at Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region for the construction of hostels, conference halls, a dining hall and cafeteria.
Annual camp meetings
The ministry holds annual camp meetings and conferences aimed at bringing women together in order to provide a platform for fellowship at the “mountain top” or “Shiloh”, as well as to present their prayer requests, needs, worship, praise, receive the Word of God and appreciate what God is doing in their lives and the ministry.
South Africa exchange programme
About 100 Royal Ladies have benefitted from the South Africa exchange programme of the church which highlights camp meetings, seminars, workshops and conferences.
Beneficiaries have great testimonies and stories to tell about the benefits of this programme.
