Christiana Danquah, The Christian Journal Contributor Bronx New York –On December 24, 2013 the Bronx English Assembly of the Church of Pentecost hosted their 1st Annual Explosion of Joy. Children of God from around New York State area gathered to display their God-given talent. It was a night of great excitement as attendees got the opportunity to experience the grace of God in its various forms, being expressed through God’s young ones.
The program highlighted its featured performer, Great Ampong, a renowned Ghanaian Gospel Artist. He brought the crowd to its feet with his memorable hits such as “Counter-Attack”. Other acts included poetry, song ministration using various instruments, solo artist’s performances and several choir ministrations. The English Assembly choir lit the entire room ablaze with their charismatic, joyful, and well-synced voices. Their youthful energy and zeal was contagious as the whole room rose to their feet to dance with their arms stretched above their heads, with faces turned upward; worshiping God in Awe.
The English Assembly Drama Team also featured an awesome story line. The play centered on a group of friends who sought out to visit their friends who have stopped coming to church because of their sick mother. They had stopped giving praise to God. During the play biblical character such as David, Hannah, and Job appeared to share the importance of giving God praise. Finally the sick mom received her healing and everyone gave praise to the Lord.
An elder from English Assembly also gave a short but powerful word of exhortation reminding us that we indeed need Christ for our Christian walk. Jesus is the reason for the season of Christmas and we cannot forget that. He is the source of our salvation and the answer to every problem we will ever face in our lives.
One could feel the presence of God in the room and rekindled the hearts of those in attendance. The event was well attended and a major success.
