Nana OtutuKono III, Nifahene of Akuapem, takes delivery of Medical Equipment and Supplies

DSC_1794.JPGA large quantity of medical equipment and supplies has been delivered to the Adukrom Health Center by Nana Professor Merkatz DarkoLarbi II,Dompeahene of Adukrom from New York. The items included delivery beds, delivery sets, bedside cabinets,patient screens, BP apparatus, weighing scales, infusion stands, hand sanitizers, wheel chairs, gowns, desktop computers, gloves, needles, syringes circumcision clamps and many more and worth over $25,000.
It will be recalled in September, Nana OtutuKono III, Nifahene of Adukrom outdoored Professor Irwin Merkatz, Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN of Albert Einstein Medical School and the Montefiore Medical Center as the Dompeahene and Mrs Lydia Apronti as Dompeahemaa of Adukrom at an impressive ceremony in New York. At that ceremony Professor Mekatz articulated his vision that included undertaking activities to enhance the delivery of quality of care to the women and children in Ghana in general and particularly Adukrom. He indicated that first on the agenda was to make available equipment and supplies to enhance the work the midwives do. In addition to Adukrom some of the supplies from the 40 foot container went to Mampong Hospital (TQMH) and Rigde Hospital in Accra as welland this was testimony to that commitment.
In a colorful ceremony to present the items to the Adukrom Heath Center, Nana OtutuKono III in attendance with NanaAmpemDarkoLarbi, Mawerehene of Adukrom thanked Professor Merkatz for his untiring vision of caring for women and children in the Bronx, USA and now in Adukrom, Ghana as well. He thankedthe Kwakwaduam Association Inc. of New Yorkthrough whose initiatives it all came to fruition as well asthe Adukrom Diaspora in New York and made special mention of Dr. Kwame Aniapam Boafo through whose outstanding effort the outdooring ceremony in New York was accomplished. He also thanked Mrs Lydia Apronti, the newly installed Dompeahemeaa, Mr. Martin Larbi, and Dr. Kofi Adu for their special contribution.
