Malawi: Pastor Ashimolowo Jets in – Speaks On Cashgate

Malawi News Agency, Lilongwe — United Kingdom-based Pastor Mathew Ashimolowo who jetted into the country on Thursday said Malawi would come out of the cashgate mess a strong nation and that something great would happen to the country.

Addressing journalists at Kamuzu International Airport upon arrival, the founder of the Kingsway International Christian Centre (KICC) said Malawi was a country with good reputation and that the Capital Hill looting should not take away the fighting spirit Malawians had.

“I urge you to keep your head high,” said Ashimolowo. “The wrong of a handful people is not the wrong for all and it should not make you all feel guilty.

“I believe that Malawi will come out of the current challenge a strong nation and I believe that something great is going to happen soon in Malawi.”

He said his visit was the beginning of a long relationship he intended to establish with the country because great things were going to happen and that he wanted to be part of the process. Ashimolowo added that his passion was to challenge young African men and women to stop looking up to others for help but that they should develop a hardworking spirit to develop their countries.

“Time has come for us to explore our resources and be able to rely on ourselves and not on somebody else,” explained Ashimolowo, adding: “Young Africans should do away with the concept of ‘good things are found outside the country’.

He also urged all Malawians to participate in the 2014 elections and that they should not sell their vote.

“Choose a leader who has leadership principles and do not choose a leader because of tribe, skin color or region,” advised the Pastor.

Minister responsible for Good Governance in the Office of President and Cabinet, Dr. Chris Daza, who welcomed Ashimolowo described the pastor’s visit as one of the great things ever happened to the country.

“Malawi considers it a blessed moment to have you visiting us in person,” said Daza. “It is very inspiring to be with you here especially at the time our country is fighting fraud and corruption which has rocked our Capital Hill.”

Ashimolowo is the founder and CEO of about 10 profitable companies which include a global TV station (KICC TV) and author of 87 books including What’s Wrong With Being Black?

His weekly telecast Winning Ways is a source of inspiration and motivation to many across the globe.

While in the country, Ashimolowo is scheduled to conduct sermons on the Leadership Challenge; Power Night Service; and Anointing Service.
