An unidentified man stabbed his wife, Amarita Khan, repeatedly on Hone Ave. in Westchester Square around 6:14 p.m. Saturday, police said. The handcuffed suspect — seen covered in blood — collapsed to the ground as police were leading him away from the scene.

A knife-wielding man stabbed his wife again and again on a Bronx street Saturday, killing her in gruesome fashion in broad daylight, police said.
Amarita Khan, 23, was found sprawled on the sidewalk in a pool of blood — unconscious and unresponsive — on Hone Ave. in Westchester Square about 6:14 p.m., cops said.
Khan, of Richmond Hill, was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center, where she died.
Her husband, who was found covered in blood, was cuffed at the scene, a police source said. Charges against him were pending late Saturday night.
The couple was in the Bronx visiting relatives. Neighbors said they were stunned by the sudden spasm of violence.
People were setting up for a party about four doors down from where the killing took place, but the attack happened too quickly for anyone to intervene, a police source and people on the block said.
“We heard the screaming, but we thought it was the kids playing,” said neighbor Melissa Ovanda, who has lived on the block for 10 years. “Nothing like that ever happens here, so we didn’t think much about it (initially).”

Dramatic photographs obtained by the Daily News captured the aftermath of the suspect’s arrest.
The man was captured lying facedown on the pavement, his hands shackled behind him. He was wearing a polo shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers, all of which were stained red.
As cops were leading him away from the scene, the man collapsed to the ground.
He was subsequently lifted from the sidewalk and taken away in a police car.
