Mr. Daramola, who delivered the sermon at the 10th year remembrance service held in honour of Atinuke Ige, late daughter of the slain Governor of the old Oyo State and former Attorney-General of the Federation, Bola Ige, at the St. Anne’s Church, Molete, Ibadan on Wednesday, identified some of the social ills defying government’s efforts as corruption, insecurity, materialism and selfishness.

He condemned the government’s attempt to consider amnesty for the dreaded Boko Haram, wondering if that would ensure justice in the issues on ground.

Despite the mass-killing of innocent Nigerians in the Northern parts of the country, some Northern leaders had persuaded the Federal government to consider granting amnesty to members of the group earlier described by President Goodluck Jonathan as ghosts.

Mr. Jonathan seems to be acceding to the request with the constitution of a team to look into the amnesty call for Boko Haram members.

The clergy, in his sermon, joined an army of Nigerians to speak against the move, labeling same as form of injustice.

“Nigeria is riddled with crimes, insecurity, stealing, pipeline vandalization, senseless killings of innocent people by the Boko Haram sect and danger has now become part of everyday life in the country.

“If Boko Haram people are granted amnesty, the victims of the series of attacks also need to be granted amnesty. I am afraid If the kidnappers will also not be granted amnesty,” he said.

Among the dignitaries present on the occasion were the Deputy Governor of the state of Osun, Titilayo Tomori; Folake Solanke; Muyiwa Ige; and Funso Adegbola.
