Nigeria: Archbishop, Govt to Rally Religious Leaders for Peace

The Daily Trust – The Archbishop, Metropolitan and Primate of all Nigeria Anglican Communion, Most Rev. Nicholas Okoh, and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Matters, Comrade Jude Imagwe, have resolved to rally other religious leaders in Nigeria for peace.

Okoh who stated his readiness to use his influence to bring other religious leaders to work with the Nigerian youth when Imagwe paid him a courtesy call in Abuja as part of efforts to prevail on religious leaders across the country to rein in on their youth to shun violence said what Nigeria need is peace.

“That you will go to the Muslim, Christian, traditional and political leaders and get them to see that your future is in danger if not corrected, is commendable. That is something I will join you to pursue, that as you are going round to campaign for the resurrection of the original Nigeria, I will join you to do so, because I have look at it, there is no way out, other than we forget trouble, live in peace and make progress.

“I want to pledge my support for your initiatives and encourage you to go on in this campaign,” he said.

Earlier, Imagwe said Nigeria youth have taken initiatives to move to religious leaders across the country in order to urge them to start preaching peace and unity.
