Tragedy struck last Sunday when a pastor of a church at Kubwa slumped and died while delivering a sermon during a church service. A source from the church told our reporter that the deceased, Joshua Jojoh, had mounted the pulpit to address his congregation when he suddenly stopped and collapsed.
He said the pastor was quickly rushed to a private hospital where he was certified dead, but was taken to another hospital as church members were not convinced of the first report.
According to the source, the second hospital also certified the pastor dead but was yet again moved to Kubwa General Hospital by the church members.
The source however said that his body had since been moved out of the General Hospital to an undisclosed location.
When our reporter visited the hospital, its head of Accident and Emergency unit, Paul Oliseh, said the pastor was brought to the hospital and was certified dead.
He said the deceased’s church members refused to accept the hospital’s report and removed the body from the hospital.
When contacted, FCT police spokesperson, Deputy Superintendent Hyelhira Altine Daniel, said the command has not been informed about the incident.
“I made enquiry from the Divisional Police Officer in Kubwa and he said no such incident has been reported at the division,” she said.
