Daily Trust, Kaduna — Christian clerics in Nigeria have been urged to always preach peace, unity and love to their followers in accordance to the teachings of the religion. Speaking during a sermon at the advent convention of the Ecclesiastical Province of Kaduna, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Diocese, which held in Jacaranda in Kaduna, the Anglican Bishop of Idah Dioceses Right Reverend Joe Musa advised Christians to follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ, whose teachings were based on love.
According to him, the violence that is presently ravaging the country is as a result of the teachings by some clerics who have totally deviated from the teachings of the Bible. While charging Christians not to condemn or judge anyone, he advised them to pray for their enemies and persecutors.
Earlier in his remarks, the Archbishop of Kaduna Province Most Reverend Edmond Akanya said the convention is usually a time for Christians to withdraw from the hustle and bustle of life and concentrate on the teachings of God.
