The Ghana Province Church of the Lord (Aladura) has celebrated its 2013 “Tabora” – feast of fasting and prayers with a call on Ghanaians to overcome selfish, indifference and greed.
Apostle Simon Essan, the Archbishop, said Ghanaians needed to work together to promote the common good of society and be bold to denounce social injustice.
This, he said, was the path to peace and stability of the nation.
He was delivering a sermon at a vigil at the “Mount Tabora Ground” at Apaaso-Ampayoo near Kumasi to climax the “Tabora”, an annual ritual, to ask for God’s guidance for those in leadership and continued blessing of the nation.
Over 800 members across the country gathered for the watch night event, which was under the theme “It is well”.
Archbishop Essan reminded Christians to become real “ambassadors of peace”, helping people to smooth over their differences, to live in total harmony.
They should refuse to give in to cynicism and remain hopeful about the future.
He said as followers of Christ it must not be lost on them their responsibility to the poor, the sick and the vulnerable, adding that, more should be done to bring comfort to such people.
He urged them to be steadfast in their faith in the “unfailing God” and to trust in his abundant mercies in the face of difficulties.
