Coptic Pope Tawadros II
Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria and Patriarch of Saint Mark Diocese received on Tuesday 16/4/2013 a delegation from the Shura Council.
The delegation, which grouped 20 members, extended condolences over the victims of last week’s violence in Qalyubia and outside the Coptic Cathedral of St. Mark in Cairo.
A sources in the church said that the Pope applauded the role played by al-Azhar’s Family House initiative in boosting national unity in the country.
It added that the Pope urged the delegation to enact legislations permitting church building and criminalizing religious discrimination.
