Faithful Flock to New Year Eve Service

Worshipper @ REPLIB ChurchThe Christian Journal, Bronx NY – A massive, exuberant crowd of worshippers from around the New York area flocked to different churches for prayers to mark the end of 2013. As the New Year rolled in, celebrating the entrance of the New Year with prayers, songs and testimonials to God was part of Watch Night services.

One worshipper, who attends Holy Fire Dynamic Church, said the day gave her an opportunity to thank God for her blessings in 2013, because the past year was a season of survivors.
“The previous year was a tough one. Our Church was in crisis but God pulled us through. That’s why I came to church to thank God for that,” she said.

Emmanuel Asare, a member of the St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, was out to extend gratitude to God for protecting his family and ushering in another year.

In his message to the faithful, Rev. Nicholas Anane-Agyei of Inner Court Sanctuary, called upon the Church to be thankful to God for enabling them to witness the New Year for it is going to be a year of God’s Immeasurable Grace. “We need to extend our heart-felt gratitude to God for the new lease of life he has granted us,” he said.
At Holy Fire Dynamic Word International, Resurrection Power & Living Bread Ministries, Upper Room Assembly of God, Bible Believers’ Tabernacle and Divine Favor Assembly of God, it was dancing and singing when The Christian Journal got there.

At Royalhouse Chapel International Church in the Bronx, Pastor Joseph Twum (Major RTD) urged Christians in the overnight service to dedicate their lives to God. He encouraged the congregation to strive for righteousness, the bible says in “Psalm 37:25 I was young and now I am old, yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken or their children begging for bread”. He completed by saying that in 2014 if they wanted to receive God’s favor and approval, they must walk in God’s righteousness. He ended by giving what constitute righteousness which included walking in integrity and God’s word. There were a lot of testimonies from the congregation”.

Kingdom Covenant Family Church and Divine Power Ministry had a Joint Service.
Bishop Owusu Ansah, the senior pastor at Calvary Deliverance Christian Assembly, urged the faithful to always be thankful to God.

Bishop Dominic Allotey of Living Faith International Church in Mount Vernon, urged his congregation to get more involved in work that glorifies God because it is going to be a year of fruitfulness. The Church is on the mission of establishing other branches to spread the gospel in the New Year.

Breakthrough Worship Center and Apostles Continuation Church had a joint service. There was a beautiful display of talent to usher in the New Year by the youth of Breakthrough Worship Center founded by Rev. Benjamin Boateng.
