Kenya: Celebrating St Patrick’s Day in Nairobi

St Patrick’s Day is an Irish holiday celebrated every year on March 17 to honour the death and entrance into heaven of the legendary Irish saint. It also celebrates the arrival of Christianity in Ireland. The day is celebrated around the world with festivals, public parades with green being the colour of choice.

Nairobi was not left out of the St Patrick’s Day festivities with parties all over the city. The Kenya Irish Society settled on the Kengeles Lavington to enjoy the holiday.

Donning the traditional green and white, with green beer and whiskey flowing, customers enjoyed live music and a traditional Irish sing-along until the wee hours of the morning!

Entertainment was from GSM Systems East Africa country manager Keith Pitout and his band.
