Kenya: Wabukala Asks Workers to Be Patient

The Star – The head of the Anglican Church in Kenya has urged leaders serve selflessly to push the country forward. Archbishop Eliud Wabukhala said recent strikes for more pay show public servants are not patient enough to allow the country to gain economic strength.

“There is one question that these leaders must ask themselves: have we made enough money to pay salaries to everyone as they would want?” he said.

Wabukhala was speaking to the press on Sunday after he presided over the consecration of the new Nyahururu ACK Bishop Rev Stephen Mwaura Wabora at the Nyahururu Pro-Cathedral.

The new bishop takes over from Bishop Charles Gaita who has retired. Nyandarua Senator Muriuki Karue asked the church to pray for the nation as it handles myriad challenges.
