By Sunday Isuwa, Kaduna — Kaduna State Government, through the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), has donated relief materials worth N2 million and additional cash of N2 million to the management of burnt Baptist Model High School located in Agwan Boro, Chikun Local Government Area in the state.
Presenting the items, SEMA Executive Secretary, Ishaku Dogo Makama, said the gesture was to help the management of the school to rehabilitate the affected buildings.
“The Governor, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has considered the magnitude of the disaster and the trauma the students and their teachers went through and approved the immediate release of the cash and rice, maize, roofing wood, zinc, nails and N2 million,” he said.
Receiving the items, the Principal of the School, Rev Abraham Adeshina Ajiboye thanked the Kaduna State government for the gesture, adding that the donation of the items was timely. “This clearly shows that Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero is for all,” Ajiboye said.
In the last three months, the school has experienced three separate fire incidences in both its male and female hostels.
