VANGUARD – The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Lagos Province 44, penultimate week, donated various medical equipment to Randle General Hospital, Surulere in Lagos.
Speaking at the presentation ceremony, Principal Officer, Province 44, Pastor Amos Emovon said the gesture aimed at giving back to host community, explaining that the health sector was chosen for the Province’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Programme due to the importance of good health.
Emovon said that CSR is at the heart of its ministerial activities and forms a core mandate given to all Provinces by the General Overseer, Pastor E.A Adeboye who tasked the church to impact positively on the society, especially the immediate environment.
“Our Father in the Lord, Pastor E.A Adeboye called us together and gave the mandate that we should impact upon our host communities through CSR initiative. To underline his seriousness about this, he had to create a new position in the Redeemed Christian Church of God, the position of Assistant Pastor in Charge of the Province’s CSRy and became mandatory on us to carry out this biblical injunction of helping the needy in our host community”, he said.
Assistant Pastor in Charge of Province CSR, Pastor Ajibola Caleb, said several CSR projects at the Area and Zonal levels were on, but this is the first as a Province and in the health sector.
Appreciating the church’s gesture, Chief Medical Director, Dr. Kunle Oni said the hospital was in dire need of the items and will ensure that they are put into effective use.
