The annual family weekend celebration in The Redeemed Christian Church of God was marked recently with several activities including a night vigil, a walkathon and a prize-giving and thanksgiving service. Aimed at raising godly families, the programme had the broad theme, ‘Overflowing Family’.
Chairman, Elders Council of the church’s Lagos Province 27, Deacon Seni Adegbite, encouraged church members to continuously yield their spirits to God to enable them flow in His presence and be useful in promoting the type of life God planned for His children.
He also said that at a time when terrorism, kidnapping, robbery, murder and general disorderliness are rife in the country, the onus lies on the church and its family units to overflow to the perpetrators and victims of these vices by extending a hand of brotherliness and love. The Elders Council also pledged to support the widows with some basic necessities needed to enjoy the yuletide.
