President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor has said that peace is necessary to rebuild Nigeria and restore herprestige in the committee of nations.
He said this while Speaking at the National Consultative Forum With Faith Leaders And Traditional Rulers Towards Building a Culture of Peace, National Unity and Integration” held in Abuja, yesterday.
“I believe Nigeria has the potential of greatness and this nation can and will stand tall in the committee of Nations. I believe that where we are today is not where we should be but I also believe we are not where we used to be, we will eventually get to where we are supposed to be.”
According to him If we must build a new Nigeria, if we must build a great Nigeria, then we must all do anything and everything it takes to build peace. Peace is necessary, it is possible, but as we build peace we must remember, Love, integrity, equity, truth and justice”
He said “They are very simple things and we all know them but this are the things that we must consciously establish first in our lives and eventually help to establish in our society”.
Meanwhile, Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar represented by the Andoma of Doma, Nasarawa State, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Oga said before God there was no colour , creed or religion and pledged to identify with the global initiative for peace unity and brotherhood in humanity”
