President Mahama meets Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago

Sankofa Online.com – Chicago April 2 2017: President Mahama paid a curtesy call on members of the Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago at their monthly meeting today at the Ramada Hotel. He informed members of the council that he is in town on speaking engagement at the prestigious University of Chicago ! In a short remark the President of the council, Paa Kwasi Sam thanked President Mahama for taking time off his busy schedule to visit them . He presented Ghanafest 2015 brochure to the President Mahama . In a prepared welcome remark , Eunice Cromwell, the business manager of the council said “”It is a privilege and a great joy for the Ghana National Council to have you visit us today. On behalf of the entire GNC, we are most honored and truly appreciate your visit. We consider you as our father and acknowledge your contributions to our homeland Ghana as the former President. We wish you nothing but success, feel free to contact us while you are here and enjoy your stay in Chicago. Thank you and God bless”.

The former president also used the opportunity to interact with Ghanaian Ceremonial chiefs and elders in the Ghanaian community here !

Reports reaching sankofaonline.com indicates that President Mahama has been approached by a number of American Universities for teaching appointments.

“In fact, negotiations are ongoing on the offers,” according to one of the sources.

Earlier President Mahama had visited Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Boston University and Harvard University.

Mahama has been on high demand since the conclusion of the 2016 Presidential Election – as he fly around the world for speaking engagements.

In February, he was hosted in Kenya by Kenyan Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) where he spoke on: “The Economy In The Light of Elections And Conducting Free And Fair Elections.”
