Ebenezer Assembly of God celebrates 20th anniversary

Rev Benjamin BoakyeBronx NY (The Christian Journal Reporter) Like any church celebrating an anniversary, it is not just the past that is on everyone’s mind. Ebenezer Assembly of God Church had lots to feel good about. They planned an enjoyable weekend to mark their 20 years anniversary celebration. A church’s anniversary can be a time of uniting to celebrate the growth of God’s kingdom and this was no exception.
“This is a big celebration. We’re all excited,” Rev. Benjamin Boakye told The Christian Journal in an interview.
On Friday, Praise and Worship was held as part of the celebration led by Adu Patrick a Ghanaian gospel artist who was invited to the United States to participate in the celebration dazzling the audience with his golden voice.

On Saturday, a royal banquet was held at Maestro catering in the Bronx Park which began at 2p.m. Leaders from various Assembly of God churches were invited and in attendance were leaders from various Ghanaian and African churches in the community.
Sunday service mark the end of celebration, several distinguished guests, including Bill Kirk were among those present at the Sunday service. A very powerful sermon was delivered by Bill Kirk.
During the service, a brief history was shared about Ebenezer Assembly of God Church. Adu Patrick and the Zion vessels of praise were marvelous during the service.
“They say that here in the U.S. there are about 4,000 (church) closings a year, and 1,000 that start, but we’re still here and will be here forever,” Frank Abboah said.
