Ghana: “We must infest our wards with discipline” – Pastor

Ghana News Agency – Reverend Emmanuel Adomako, the Osiem District Pastor of the Presbyterian Church-Ghana, has called on parents and school authorities to “infest” their wards with discipline.

He said the rate at which indiscipline was growing among the youth left much to be desired and therefore urged parents and teachers to team up to train the children the way they should go.

“We must strive to let our wards see discipline as part of them; they must start to eat, drink, think and talk discipline wherever they are, and this is our greatest task as parents and teachers,” he said.

Rev. Adomako was speaking at Osiem during the Education Week Celebration for all Presbyterian schools in the area which was organised by the Emmanuel Congregation of the Church.

The Week celebration was under the theme; “Discipline In Our Schools: Achievements, Challenges and the Way Forward.”

The District Pastor expressed worry that discipline in Presbyterian schools had declined as compared to some years past, and called for efforts to bring back those days.

He urged parents to make time for their wards to identify their strengths and to help them to overcome their weaknesses.

Rev. Adomako also urged parents to allow instituted laws in the educational system to work without any interference.

He advised the students to learn hard and be more disciplined to achieve higher heights in life.
