Launching of Ghana TC Radio

43547801African Post,Alexandria, VA – The Ghana Tourist Coach Radio is the brainchild of Kwame Boakye-Danquah (Toziah). He mooted the idea years ago after a personal experience years ago whilst working as an agent with an Insurance company. As he listened to people make derogatory remarks about Africa he was provoked to go online and showed some goods pictures about Ghana his home country to the people. When they saw the pictures it changed their perception of Ghana and Africa as a whole. Kwame realized people were not better informed about Ghana as such he became an ambassador educating people about the other side of Ghana. He therefore formed a group on Facebook which was the first of its kind. He got the following of personalities like Professor Kwasi Yankah.

The group now has grown to about 17,000 members. It is therefore out of this that the idea of setting up a radio station that would promote Ghana and its tourism potential came into being. The station started broadcasting on the web in May 2013 and after making such a huge impact in the Washington Metro area it was finally launched on September 28, 2013 at the Days Inn in Alexandria, Virginia.

People from diverse backgrounds showed up to support the launching. There were presentations by Lawyer Ishmael Thoronka (originally from Sierra Leone), Dr. Daniel Ampoma (Ghanaian Nurses Association), and Dr. Nana Osei Amoah – a medical practitioner .
