Let fear of God help achieve economic prosperity — Aglow President

42946293Graphic Online – The President of Aglow International, Ghana, Mrs Dorothy Danso, says the greatest desire of Ghanaian Christian women is for the country to achieve sustainable economic prosperity and political stability in a society where the people trust and fear God.

“For this cause, we have always interceded and will continue to intercede for the hand of God to be on Ghana,” she told a meeting of leaders of women’s groups drawn from churches and fellowships in Kumasi.

The meeting was organised by the Christ For All Nations (CFAN) Ministry founded by the German international evangelist, Rev. Reinhard Bonnke, as part of stakeholder consultations intended to solicit the support of the Christian community in the Ashanti Region for a Gospel crusade to be mounted by CFAN in the Garden City in the last week of November.

The second in the city since 1993, the crusade will also feature the American evangelist, Rev. Daniel Kolenda, who took over from Bonnke last year as the President of the ministry.

The meeting attracted a large number of women’s groups from the Catholic, Methodist, Presbyterian, Anglican, Pentecostal and Charismatic churches, as well as fellowships and clubs in Kumasi.

Mrs Danso defended the role of women in Christian ministry, saying, “Jesus used women in His ministry. It was a woman — the lady at Jacob’s well — who is on record as the world’s first evangelist. Also, it was a woman who first saw the risen Christ.”

She commended the methodology of the CFAN for the November crusade, citing the concept of issuing thousands of invitation cards to members of participating churches to pour out into the cities, towns and villages of Ashanti to invite their neighbours, relations and friends to attend the crusade.

She also praised the ongoing training of counsellors and ushers, describing it as a lifetime opportunity to learn from a ministry that had tried and tested it for over 40 years in many cities of the world, especially Africa.

“We all know Bonnke’s soul-winning track record. His methods have yielded millions of souls,” she said.

The CFAN’s Executive Director for Africa, Rev John Darko, used the occasion to assure the Christian community in Ashanti to get ready for a great revival.

“What is shakeable will be shaken. What is breakable will be broken,” he said.

He mentioned the accompanying Fire Conference slated for the mornings during the four-day event and asked pastors and church workers to register to take part.

“We won’t keep you for too long, but long enough for you to receive impartation. Your ministries will not be the same again,” he promised.
