Nigeria: Church Offers Medical Services, Free Drugs in Kuje
The Believers World Ministry Inc has offered free drugs and medical services to residents of Shadadi community in Kuje area council to enhance healthy living among the people.
Speaking at the event, the General Overseer of the church, Rev Brown Godwill, said the gesture was part of activities to mark the one year anniversary of the church.
He said the free drugs and medical services were aimed at ensuring that the less privileged in the society are given access to medical services.
“Apart from the medical services we also have some food items and clothing materials to be distributed to the less privileged and the motive is to let them know that there is still hope for them,” he said.
Godwill called on the beneficiaries to continue to anchor their hope in God adding that the essence of the entire exercise was to appreciate the good work of God upon the church.
Some of the beneficiaries who spoke to LEADERSHIP commended the church for the gesture, saying it would no doubt enhance healthy living among residents of the community.
A beneficiary, Mrs Sarah Alhassan, stated that the program was timely considering the need for regular medical check-up among residents who could not access medical care outside the community.
Alhassan who called for sustainability of the programme urged other churches and organisations to emulate the gesture and offer programmes that would improve the lives of the less-privileged in the society.
